- INSTALLATION DIRECTIONS
-
- These directions assume some familiarity with ResEdit. If you don't
- understand them, you probably shouldn't be mucking around in your
- System with ResEdit.
-
- 1. After starting ResEdit, open Humphrey (double click on Humphrey, or
- single click and use the 'open' command). Humphrey consists of
- one 'ICN#' resource. Open the ICN# resouce to behold the Humphrey
- ICN#s.
-
- 2. Open the Finder in the System Folder. Then open the 'ICN#' resource.
-
- 3. Select (by single clicking) the 'empty' Trash and then cut it
- using the 'cut' command. Do the same with the 'full' can ICN#.
-
- 4. After moving back to the Humphrey file, select one Humphrey ICN#,
- and copy using the menu copy command.
-
- 5. Move back to the Finder ICN# file and paste Humphrey into it.
-
- 6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 with the other Humphrey ICN#.
-
- 7. Humphrey is now installed! To display his name, open the STR# 128
- resource in the Finder, scroll down to the 'Trash' string and
- change it to 'Humphrey' (or whatever). Then close all files,
- saving the changes when requested, and quit ResEdit.
-
- 8. If you're not sure about all of this, use a backup System to
- practice on.
